Physical Intervention Training
Accredited physical intervention training that equips security professionals and frontline staff with safe, lawful, and proportionate techniques for managing physical confrontation.
Overview
Physical intervention is a last resort — but when it becomes necessary, it must be applied correctly, safely, and within the law. Innovation Group Services delivers comprehensive Physical Intervention training that prepares security officers, door supervisors, and frontline staff to manage situations involving physical aggression with confidence, control, and professionalism.
Our programme is grounded in restraint science and legal compliance, covering the full spectrum from breakaway techniques through to approved holding and escorting procedures. All techniques taught are proportionate, defensible, and aligned with current guidance from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and relevant health and safety legislation.
Delivered by instructors with direct experience in security operations, custody, and close protection, this is practical training built for real environments — not sterile theory.

Key Principles
Legally Defensible
Every technique is framed within UK law. Participants understand not just how to act, but why each action is legally justified.
Safety First
Techniques are designed to minimise injury risk to both the subject and the officer. Positional asphyxia and restraint-related risks are covered in full.
Scenario-Based
Training is delivered through realistic role-play scenarios relevant to your specific operational environment — retail, events, healthcare, or corporate.
Integrated Approach
Physical intervention is never taught in isolation. De-escalation, communication, and situational awareness are woven throughout the programme.
